Probably the most powerful handheld available, this 720-watt vacuum doubles as a mini-canister, because its nozzle detaches for cleaning stairs, upholstery, auto interiors, and hard-to-reach places. Two motors ensure efficient performance. One is for suction, the other powers the nozzle's brush roll so embedded dirt can be captured. The bagless vacuum has a transparent plastic dirt container that releases with the push of a button. The nozzle's hose can be stretched, providing several feet of reach, and a 20-foot power cord permits going up stairs and into automobiles. Stored in a slot atop the vacuum is a crevice tool that attaches to the hose. Unlike most vacuums with a powered brush roll, this one never needs to have its drive belt replaced: the belt is permanent. The vacuum measures 16-1/2 inches long, 9 inches high (to top of hose), and 5-1/2 inches wide. It carries a two-year warranty against defects.
